DISCONNECTED SOCIETY

Refugium from daily anxiety

Mr. Rainer Graf was a renter of my apartment where I have lived about 12 years. Against his own will he lived alone without contact with his sisters and friends. Almost every day he spent time in his living room with watching TV, specially soccer games. After suffering from serious disease he had to stop smoking and alcohol drinking that were his enjoyment. From that time his reclusiveness and loneliness had been intensified. His living room could be his last space where he could stay. He was one of Hikikomori. But at the same time his living room was a ideal refuge from daily life that he was confronted with social pressure such as social adjustment, social communication etc.
